Glimpse of the past

The 14th of July was a busy day for the Glen Eden Library.  The Glen Eden Protection Society, held an informative day on Glen Eden through photos and documents.  It was a great success, with an average of 25 people an hour moving through the exhibition. The BID sponsored Ads in the Western Leader and posters.

This was the second time the Society has put this exhibition on and there is huge potential to grow.  A self walk pamphlet was developed around four years ago by Gayle Marshall using a map that was developed by the late Mary Gilligan.  The Waitakere City Council worked with the first map Gayle put together and had it printed.

The Library staff added to the day by dressing in costume and three of the Library windows displayed information pertaining to the day.

Glen Eden has many historic and heritage features and to lose the past does not add to our future.
